Please join us at the screening of LUNAFEST 2019 , a national film festival showcasing films by, for, and about women.
6:00 PM: Pre-screening reception: mix and mingle

7:00 PM: LUNAFEST: see this year’s powerful collection of films.
- See 8 films selected for the 2019 national traveling film festival
- Plus a special screening of a film by Daniel Eduvijes Carrera: Soledad de los Incendios ~ The Fires of Soledad, a poignant tale about the powerful bond of family and the countless immigrants lost along the US/Mexico border.
8:45 PM: Q&A Panel: hear from the filmmakers, writers, & actors
- Hosted by Melinna Bobadilla, known for her work as Santos Chaj on hit series Orange Is The New Black.
- The panel will include: Daniel Eduvijes Carrera, Jana Diaz Juhl and Katrelle Kindred

Women and their families impacted by domestic violence and homelessness are often faced with immigration barriers, limited support, poverty, and isolation. Building upon the immediate need for providing safety and basic shelter, ELAWC provides wraparound support through community and other collaborations to ensure women and their families are safe, empowered and provided with opportunities to achieve well-being, self-sufficiency and a safe permanent environment. Services include: crisis intervention, counseling, danger assessment, safety planning, emergency shelter placement, case management services and community linkages to permanent housing, transitional housing, and job placement and linkages to legal support.
